Why Does Migration Happen? Is It Just Compulsion—or a Well-Planned System?
Today, migration from villages to cities and from one state to another is increasing rapidly in our country.
It is often said that people migrate for employment, but the real question is—
👉 Is it only a compulsion, or is there a larger strategy behind it?
⚖️ Why Isn’t Development Equal?
If a country has 20–25 states,
then development should also be equally distributed among all states.
But the reality is—
-
Some states get 5–10 large factories
-
Some states get only 1–2
-
And some states don’t get even a single one
If 25 industries are to be established,
why isn’t one industry set up in each of the 25 states?
🏭 Where and Why Are Industries Established?
Big capitalists set up industries where—
-
Cheap labor is available
-
Land is easily accessible
When a factory is set up in an area—
-
Only 10–20% of local people get jobs
-
The remaining 80% of workers are brought from other states

🤔 Why Are Migrant Workers Preferred?
Because a migrant worker—
-
Has left home and family behind
-
Needs to rent a room
-
Must buy gas, utensils, a mobile phone, TV, clothes, food—everything
👉 In other words, every need of theirs is linked to the market
Whereas local people already have—
-
A house
-
Cooking facilities, utensils, and basic necessities
That is why, for capitalists, a migrant worker is not only cheap labor
but also a more profitable consumer.
💰 This Is the Real Strategy of Capitalism
Migrant workers—
-
Spend almost everything they earn in the city
-
Have very little left to send home
-
Gradually start buying expensive brands
-
Get trapped in a life of display and status
They believe they are living a better life,
but in reality—
👉 They are trying to fill their loneliness with material things.
😔 Social Costs of Migration
Migration causes not only economic, but also social damage—
-
Distance from family → loneliness
-
Loneliness → excessive mobile use, alcohol, and bad company
-
In some cases, harassment and crime increase
Theft increases because—
👉 In a new place, there is no fear of family or community.
This does not apply to everyone,
but it is seen in many cases.
🌱 Destruction of Villages and the Environment
Where large factories are established—
-
20–25 villages are destroyed
-
Polluted factory water seeps into the ground
-
Groundwater becomes unfit for drinking
-
People begin to fall ill
-
Farming collapses
And where there are—
-
Too many factories
-
Corporate offices
-
Large cities

There you see—
-
Prostitution
-
Social imbalance
-
Even worse conditions in surrounding villages

❗ Migration Is Not Always a Crime—Often It Is a Compulsion
It would be wrong to say that every migrant is at fault.
👉 Many people migrate out of necessity
👉 Because there are no employment opportunities in their villages
But it is also true that—
🔴 This unequal development is deliberately created
🔴 To ensure cheap labor
🔴 And to keep the market running
🧠 What Is the Solution?
If migration truly needs to be reduced, then—
-
Industries should be set up equally in every state
-
Local people should be given priority in employment
-
Job opportunities should exist within villages
-
Development should not come at the cost of the environment
🔚 Final Thought
Migration is not just a personal compulsion;
it is the outcome of a system—
👉 That benefits a handful of capitalists
👉 And harms villages, families, and society as a whole
If we truly want change,
we must understand this system,
not simply blame those who are forced to migrate.
